The Danube
from the Black Forest to the Black Sea

The Danube River has always fascinated the minds of artist all over Europe.  Step by step, it was depicted by painting, music, literature and now it is time for photography.  The idea of a journey along The Danube came out in 2007 and it was possible to implement it a year later. The project stretched along the river and it targeted eight countries – Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania – with numerous picturesque towns and villages and four capital-cities: Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, and Belgrade. Vegetation was especially represented by Kopacki Rit in Croatia, the Danube Delta and Black Sea shore in Romania. My colleague and photographer, Dragos Giurgiu, attended the expedition.

As a result of this project, an exhibition was born which include both cultural and rural or natural aspects about the river, as well as flora and fauna. The exhibition and the slideshow were presented in many towns of Romania.
